«CHEZ YAYA ECO-LODGES»

…Was particularly suitable for all nature lovers. Its exceptional location, on the west coast of Kalymnos, in Kalamies, is very close to the Climbing spots, just behind 2 private beaches with restaurants already frequented by them.

Our Eco-Lodges are located in a century-old olive grove, by the sea, on the only wooded land on the west coast of the island. They are made from high quality wood and tents (no cement in their construction) and fit perfectly into the site, respecting the existing environment. “CHEZ YAYA ECO-LODGES” everything has been designed to make you feel free, in harmony with the spirit of the island of Kalymnos.

WATER SAVING / RECYCLING

Cleaning and bedding (sheets and towels) are changed once a week, to save water consumption (unless expressly requested).
Cleaning with organic products.
Timed sink faucet: 85% reduction in traditional consumption.
Shower head with water limiter: halving of consumption/classic
Water saving toilet: double push button + tank saver: reduction of 40%.
Olive grove (137 olive trees) totally organic (no pesticides or chemical fertilizers), . All olive trees have been preserved in the project.
Use of the water recovered by the micro-purification station for irrigation: virtuous circle.
Planting only endemic, Mediterranean plants (laurels, bougainvillea), perfectly adapted to Kalymnos, and which require little watering.

ELECTRICITY SAVING

Common areas: All our lighting is solar powered.
The estate is organized into 3 lighting zones with clocks.
Use of LED lamps: power consumption 10 times lower and lifespan 50 times longer than a conventional lamp.
Preference for natural ventilation + fan, 62 times less energy consuming than air conditioning.

CARBON FOOTPRINT / GREENHOUSE EFFECT

The Eco-Lodges and their equipment are all purchased in Greece, in order to minimize the carbon impact of transport.
Planting several hundred Oleanders and Bougainvillea, Mediterranean species, sensors of atmospheric CO2.
The olive grove is a carbon sink (reduces the quantity of atmospheric CO2, responsible for global warming/greenhouse effect; by transforming carbon from atmospheric CO2 into organic carbon).
